Travel Diaries: Disneyland Paris Highlights

In October, I spent four days in Disneyland Paris with my friends. Although we have been friends for 20+ years, this was our first trip abroad together and I feel we couldn't have picked a better place for our first abroad trip than here! Even as an adult, the magic feeling of the Disneyland park was undeniable. We stayed in the Disneyland Park Hotel, the main hotel which is right in front of the park. The hotel in itself was stunning! We felt thew Disney magic pretty much straight away. The inside and outside of the hotel is stunning. We ordered room service on the last day (something I had never done in my life until then!) and it was great. It all felt so fancy. Our room was so lovely too, it was also very fancy just like the hotel itself.

The entrance to the park itself being right outside of the hotel meant we didn't have far to walk to get into the park ands staying in a Disney Hotel meant that we had access to the Extra Magic Hours. This meant that we could enter the park an hour early and stay an hour later than the opening and closing times. It was great getting to go into the park when it was a little quieter - don't get me wrong, it was still pretty busy despite only being open to Disney Hotel guests, it was just a little less busy than it gets during the day😄. The whole atmosphere of the park felt like something that wasn't quite real life. Everywhere looked straight out of a movie and because we went in October there were Halloween decorations all around in different places which really just added to everything. There was some Halloweeny music playing in the main street and a halloween parade too.

The rides themselves were fun too. We had the app that told us what the wait times were going to be so that we could plan our day around them and not waste too much times just standing about in queues. The highlights for me were Big Thunder Mountain, the Tower of Terror and the Haunted Mansion. Big Thunder Mountain was a top favourite of all of us! We spent time in both the parks as well as visiting the shops and restaurants in the Disney Village.

There were lots of great foods and drinks too. We went to Bistrot Chez Remi (the ratatouille themed restraunt), the Agrabah Cafe (Aladdin themed) and the Rainforest Cafe for big main meals. We also went to the bake shop in the Disneyland Park for hot chocolate and Mickey shaped doughnuts and bread. There was chocolate covered strawberries in the studios part of the park which were delicious too!

On our second night there, we decided to stay and watch the fireworks/drone light show in front of the castle. It was brilliant! I even felt a little emotional watching it, it was very well done. Clips from different movies were projected onto the castle and that, along with the fireworks and drones and music just told a story. It's actually pretty wild how much of a large part Disney has played in so many people's lives in one way or another.

If you're planning on going to Disneyland Paris, I'd recommend going for at least three days to really get the most out of the trip plus time to see both of the parks and not feel rushed as well as giving yourself time to go round all the shops too if you'd like. It was a brilliant trip and definitely a highlight of the year! Going with my best friends just made it all that more special, memories were made and so much fun was had!

What's an unforgettable trip you've had?

Bye for now, xo
