What's In My Travel Bag

In about a week, I'll be heading off to France!

I always enjoy reading blog posts about what other people have in their bags, especially for what they take on holiday with them. So I thought I’d make my own blog post on the things I’ll be taking in my bag this year.

I saw this bag advertised on Instagram and thought it looked perfect for taking with me on holiday. It has a lot of pockets both outside and inside the bag which is perfect for everything I’m planning on taking with me. It’s also a really good size, it’s not huge but it’s not tiny. A good size for taking on travels.

We’re driving to France and it takes about 8ish hours just to get to the ferry so I’m downloading movies from Netflix and Amazon prime onto my iPad to watch to pass the time in the car (any movie recommendations would be greatly appreciated). I’ve also got my iPod to listen to my own music if I ever get bored of whatever’s playing in the car.

Since I’ll be in France for a while, I’m not going to take any actual paper books with me. When I’m on holiday I read a lot and so I find it easier to just take my kobo since it has a lot of books on it plus it saves space rather than actual books taking up space. I’m going to buy some more books on it before going just so I (hopefully!) won’t run out of things to read in the time I’m away.

Something I love to do whenever I’ve got the time is drawing. I probably won’t draw at any point during the journey but I’m going to keep these things in my travel bag just incase.

Whenever I go on holiday I always write down everything I did each day. I’ve been doing this since 2009 because that was the year my family and I went to Disneyland Paris and I had wanted to remember the holiday so I wrote about it to read and look back on. Ever since then I’ve kept a ‘holiday journal’ and written down everything I’ve done in every holiday I’ve been on since 2009. I like to keep my holiday journals with me whenever I go on holiday (even though those books are almost finished, I still like to take them both with me). I keep these in my travel bag just so they’re definitely with me on the journey.

Of course I absolutely need to have my camera with me! I love taking pictures everywhere I go and so by keeping the camera in my travel bag this means it’s always there if I want to take a picture at any point no matter where we go.

Some extra stuff that I’m taking with me includes tissues; sunglasses; a puzzle book; hand sanitiser; a small makeup bag with concealer, powder and mascara just incase; a power bank incase things need charged and of course my phone (obviously can’t go anywhere without that😄).

I’m really looking forward to this holiday and making new memories in France!

Bye for now, xo
